The not-for-profit organization was established by Steve and Dolores Baker in 1999 to honor the memory of a cherished family member, Monty, a West Highland White Terrier who died after a long and costly illness.  They were fortunate enough to be able to afford these costs, but decided to establish Monty's Helping Paw to help other less fortunate pet owners in Monty's memory.

Each year, the organization has helped around 20 pets and their families with the cost of veterinarian care.  Thanks to the generosity of many donors, the not-for-profit organization is ready to keep helping for years to come!
